Ragazzo

Born in 2000, as Stephen Darren Rohde, the artist “Ragazzo” lives and works in Luxembourg. He drew and painted as a child constantly. Since a very young age, as a self-taught artist he developed his style by tagging but also creating graffiti on the streets and at his home.

It's Art not a Crime

At the age of 14, he won the public award at the JuKoWo exhibition in Differdange, Luxembourg, with his painting “It’s Art not a crime”.

After his graduation during the pandemic, he went to Vienna University to study history of art.

Today Ragazzo focuses on contemporary art to achieve a visual colour field on canvas to express abstraction, rooted in abstract expressionism, art history and street culture.

Through the use of different colour compositions and a range of techniques, he is fascinated to create expressive canvases that prompt viewers to reflect. He sees his works as an interpretation of his attempts to fathom the world.

He also draws inspiration from art history and integrates these historical references into his work. In addition, he demonstrates a unique approach by occasionally collecting and reinterpreting works in his own way, which adds depth to his artistic expression. The result is a captivating fusion of contemporary techniques, historical inspiration and innovative sampling to create a visually appealing narrative.

As a contemporary artist, he equally crosses the boundaries between modern art and street culture, which he shows in exhibitions at home and abroad.

His artistic fiber is not limited to contemporary art, it also encompasses music, bridging creativity and inspiration.
His musical sensitivity led him, as BRAVI, to record his first album ‘Ragazzino’.
